Best Provision of Industry Information and Intelligence
Technology and digitalisation are transforming the role that accountants play. Digital Day was an ongoing campaign to encourage accountants to embrace change and use technology to provide better services to clients. It also re-branded the profession as advisers that can offer 360° financial support, making technology work for people. And because we were encouraging our members to go digital, it only made sense that we used online tools ourselves for the communication of this initiative.
By using a variety of online mediums, such as articles, interviews, videos, illustrations, photos, newsletters, blogs and interactive online tools. Basically, through our digital communications strategy, we were able to fully establish the need for the profession to adopt a digital strategy to remain relevant and to rebrand itself.
With the communications campaign and creative, digital use of the resources from Digital Day, we have created an archive of quality content for the industry, stakeholders and policymakers.

CEPI statistics – a blueprint for policymaking
CEPI’s statistics are extensively detailed and are also one of the reference sources for the European institutions.
More than just stats, a modern tool for communication!
In addition to its statistics reports released to members and external stakeholders, CEPI has been the first EU trade organisation to produce a sustainability report, and more recently an online, interactive “sustainability platform”, where the main updated indicators can be found.
European Aluminium’s Environmental Profile Report provides accurate and reliable data on aluminium industry’s environmental performance in Europe. This is important, not simply from an environmental perspective but also from that of meeting growing public interest and concern. Stakeholders rightly want to know the impact of the products they use and consume to inform their behaviour. In addition, EU policymakers also increasingly use Life-Cycle-Assessment (LCA) concepts in certain environmental legislations. Our report answers the need for robust and reliable data to make LCA assessments.
European Aluminium received extremely positive feedback from its members and other stakeholders. The report’s datasets have been implemented in the most widely used LCA databases like Gabi and EcoInvent and provide members with a competitive advantage compared to non-European producers and other materials. By quantifying how the various elements within the supply chain perform throughout their life cycle and how our industry is advancing its contribution to a more sustainable, circular economy, we have also received the support of EU policymakers in important dossiers.
European Respiratory Society (ERS)
The European Respiratory Society (ERS) undertook a new initiative on 12th April 2018 called ERS Satellites The concept was conceived to support the sharing of knowledge with a high number of respiratory healthcare professionals (HCPs) without incurring the excessive costs usually associated with travel, accommodation and registration To achieve this goal, we collaborated with national societies and Industry partners to offer as many healthcare professionals access to this cutting-edge live educational event as possible Concept ERS Satellites are designed to make access to the latest in respiratory medicine easier than it’s ever been before The initiative takes full advantage of live-streaming technology, which enabled us to create a comprehensive one-day programme made up of sessions delivered by experts from multiple venues across Europe This meant that HCPs could attend a venue closer to home but still get access to the level of information that is usually only available at large international events, which usually incur expensive costs or simply join online from anywhere in the world Registration to attend in person or online was free of charge. Over 2000 HCPs too part from 107 countries and the society gained nearly 1000 new contacts in respiratory medicine.
